View data lineage from the deployment perspective

note

You can only view data lineage for SQL deployments.

Navigate to the Deployments page within the Ververica Cloud console. Here, you can identify the deployment of interest and access details on deployment nodes, data nodes, dependencies between the deployment's tables, and affiliations between its tables and fields.

note

The default view positions the deployment as the central node and displays a three-layer data lineage: the upstream table, central deployment, and downstream table. To explore earlier data lineage, click the plus sign to the left of the upstream table. For subsequent data lineage, click the plus sign to the right of the downstream table.

  1. On the Dashboard page, open the console for the workspace you want to manage.
  2. In the Console navigation pane, click Deployments.
  3. Click the name of the desired deployment.
  4. On the Lineage tab, click Table Level to view table-level data lineage or Column Level to view field-level data lineage.

Table-level data lineage

Clicking on a node will reveal details including:

  • Node type
  • Connector type
  • Catalog name
  • Database name
  • Destination table name
  • Source table name

Additionally, deployment details will be available, such as:

  • Deployment ID
  • Creation time and creator
  • Last modification time and the user who made the latest change.

Field-level data lineage

You have the capability to:

  • See table field names and their respective types.
  • Observe names of databases, catalogs, and connector types for tables at the same level.
  • Access information related to the deployment.
