Overview
Operator and engineer documentation for the Ververica distribution of Apache Fluss: its Docker image, Helm chart, and client setups, and the jobs that run against it on Ververica Platform 3 (current release 1.0.0-vv-3).
Get Started
- Quickstart: Fluss on Ververica Platform 3: Stream data into Fluss from Ververica Platform 3, tier it into Iceberg, and query it from Fluss, the lake, and both at once.
- Obtaining Registry Access: Find where each Ververica Fluss artifact is published, and which of them need credentials to pull.
- Deploying Fluss on Kubernetes: Install, verify, harden, and remove a Fluss cluster on Kubernetes with the Ververica bundle Helm chart.
- Installing Fluss Setups: Install server plugins and client JARs with the setup installer shipped in the Ververica Fluss image.
Configure the Server
- Securing Fluss: Authenticate clients, servers, and ZooKeeper with SASL, authorize principals with ACLs, and encrypt in-cluster traffic with a service mesh.
- Configuring Remote Storage: Back a Fluss cluster with durable object storage on Amazon S3, Azure ADLS Gen2, or an S3-compatible store.
- Configuring Lake Tiering: Tier Fluss tables into Apache Iceberg: install the lake plugin, point the server at a JDBC or REST catalog, and run the tiering service.
- Configuring Prometheus Monitoring and Grafana: Expose Fluss server metrics to Prometheus and install the Ververica Grafana dashboards for them.
Connect & Run
- Reading and Writing Fluss: Configure VERA SQL jobs and Java applications to connect to Fluss, write and read its tables, and read tiered tables with each catalog's credentials.
- Running Fluss Jobs on Ververica Platform 3: Upload client JARs, create secret values, and run a Fluss job on Ververica Platform 3 as a JAR or SQL deployment or a Debug query.
- Using the Fluss Console on Ververica Platform 3: Enable the Fluss Console on Ververica Platform 3, pin its images, register a Fluss cluster, and browse its databases and tables.
