Billing

Ververica offers flexible billing options designed to support a range of deployment needs and consumption patterns. Whether you’re just getting started or running production workloads at scale, you can choose from two main pricing models:

  • Pay As You Go (PAYG) - A flexible option where you pay only for the Compute Units (CUs) and Network Transfer Units (NTUs) you consume.
  • Reserved Capacity (RC) - Organizes capacity into predefined tiers (e.g., RC20 or RC30), with each tier representing a specific amount of preallocated capacity and limits per workspace.

Pay As You Go (PAYG) and Reserved Capacity (RC) are both billed hourly based on resource usage.

You can choose the model that best aligns with your expected workload and, if needed, vary offerings across different cloud providers. This guide outlines the key differences between PAYG and RC, available purchase options, supported payment methods, and how billing and invoicing are handled.

note
  • 1 CU = 1 CPU core / 4 GiB
  • 1 NTU = 1 GB network traffic

Payment Methods

Ververica Cloud supports two main ways to pay for your usage:

  1. Direct Credit Card Payment (via Stripe)
  2. Cloud Marketplace (currently available for AWS, with more providers coming soon)

Each Ververica Cloud user account can only have one active payment method at a time. This payment method covers every workspace you create. All billing is handled hourly, and you receive a consolidated invoice for your usage at the end of the billing period (monthly by default).

Managing Billing and Invoicing

Billing and invoicing behavior varies depending on whether you pay by credit card or via the AWS Marketplace:

Credit Card

  • Hourly Charges: Ververica Cloud accrues charges hourly for resources (Compute Units and Network Transfer Units) consumed by your workspaces.
  • Monthly Invoices: We generate a monthly invoice that reflects your total usage cost, minus any applicable free credit or promotions.
  • Invoice Delivery: This invoice is emailed to the billing address you provide in the Billing Information section.

AWS Marketplace

  • Hourly Usage: Ververica Cloud accrues usage records hourly, rather than charges.
  • Marketplace Billing: Ververica does not generate a monthly invoice or apply free credit or promotions for Marketplace usage. Instead, your usage records are sent to AWS Marketplace, which calculates and bills you according to your AWS account.
  • No Ververica Invoice: You won’t receive a separate invoice from Ververica for Marketplace usage; all billing is handled by AWS Marketplace.
