SQL Editor Interface and User Settings

The SQL Editor provides a powerful environment for developing and managing your Flink SQL scripts. You can organize your work with folders and multiple tabs, and customize the editor's appearance and behavior through User Settings.

Folder Structure and Multi-tab Editing​

The Drafts tab in the SQL Editor supports folder-based organization and multi-tab editing:

  • Folders: Create folders to group related SQL scripts. You can move drafts into folders to keep your workspace organized.
  • Multi-tab Editing: Open multiple SQL drafts simultaneously. Each draft appears in its own tab at the top of the editor, allowing you to switch between scripts easily.

Configure the Code Editor​

You can customize the SQL Editor's behavior, such as font size and auto-save settings.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • Click your Profile icon in the upper-right corner and select User Settings, then in the left navigation, click Code Editor.

    or

    • Click the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the SQL editor pane to open the Code Editor.

  2. Adjust the following settings as needed:

    • Font Size: Set your preferred text size for the editor.
    • Word Wrap: Toggle word wrapping on or off.
    • Show Line Number: Display or hide line numbers in the editor.
    • Show Minimap: Enable or disable the code minimap on the right side of the editor.
    • Enable Auto Save: Turn on automatic saving of your drafts.
    • Auto Save Delay: Specify the delay in milliseconds (ms) before auto-save triggers.

  3. Click Apply.

Theme Settings (Light and Dark Mode)​

You can choose a visual theme for the Ververica Platform console.

  1. Click your Profile icon in the upper-right corner and select User Settings, then in the left navigation, click UI Settings.
  2. Choose a theme:
    • Light theme: A traditional light-colored interface.
    • Dark theme: A low-light interface for better visibility in dark environments.
    • System theme: Automatically matches your operating system's theme settings.
tip

Click the Toggle theme moon icon next to your profile icon in the upper-right corner to switch between the Light and Dark themes.
